The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer is gaffed in a way that the
participant can open to ‘any’ page of the book and read any paragraph on that
page to themselves then you as the performer can tell them what the
paragraph is about. There are 3 paragraphs in total. They are written different
ways but basically say the same thing. These paragraphs are repeated on four
pages and those four pages are repeated throughout the book. This allows
you to flip through the book to show all the pages being different. However, I
would it do in a more casual way. Like flip the pages while you are talking to
the participant without bringing attention to it. Then hand the book to them
and let them open to a page in the book. When the participant opens to a page
they pick a paragraph and read it to themselves. Then you reveal what the
paragraph talks about.
